When we save energy, everyone benefits. Extra electricity can be sold to neighboring states, electric bills can be reduced (for entire cities, office buildings, residences), and we can devote the surplus energy to other uses. Each light bulb, each street light, each traffic signal…virtually every source of light we use could be converted to LED and use a fraction of the energy (50% or less). Energy Calculations for Seattle’s approx. 90,000 HPS street lights- (some street lights are 150 watts, some are 250 and some are 400+, we will use an average of 200 watts). Also, this is only energy savings, not including maintenance. PURPOSE

Our products serve several important purposes – conserving energy, conserving spending, improving safety, and are less taxing on the environment. They are non-toxic, energy efficient, functional, recyclable, environmentally and user-friendly. Installation is simple- for many of the products, being green and saving yourself money is as easy as screwing in a light bulb.

Where did the name, ALTRUEN, come from?

ALTRUISM: the quality of unselfish concern for the welfare of others.

Alternative Usage of Energy- If we can accomplish the same thing (lighting) with less (energy), why waste? For example, street lights are essential for safety, but they don’t need to consume twice the energy and generate additional maintenance expense (paid for by your tax dollars).
